星空センチメント

ENG title: Starry Sky Sentiment

This quiet is making me nervous,
As we make a detour to this place
The sound of canned coffee being opened echoes
Just like after the end of a festival

Honestly, “I want to stay with you a bit longer”
Is what I should have said
Those words that don’t really care for tomorrow

In the season that just ended, we chase after fading dreams
We’re entering adulthood, but
Starry sky sentiment, it’s a pretty night
All alone, looking up at the silent sky

Waking from a tiring, fitful sleep
I don’t think this is caused by scary things
By experience, I know wishing for everyone to stay together
Is just like a far-off day

With a smoldering feeling, you’re always
Sending me off with a smile
What should I do about you…

I know that love grows stronger, and becomes more timid,
After all, I’m not even an adult yet
This is sentiment, it’s a pretty sky
All alone, looking up at the silent sky

Someday, this sadness
Will be something we could look back and laugh at
Even bit by bit,
Even in this moment,
For the sake of a new me,
I will go through this point

In the season that just ended, I hold these unwavering feelings close
I want to live to protect someone
Starry sky sentiment, because of this important love,
I won’t let you go under the silent sky
The two of us, looking up at the silent sky

  • Translator’s note: Originally posted 05/10/16! Original kanji source.
  • The word used to describe ‘dreams’ in chorus 1 was actually 淡い – “pale”. But that didn’t make sense to me, so working off “the season that just ended”, I went with the dreams being ‘fading’.
