ENG title: Reincarnated Pure Love Fighter

That lifeless face is suspicious,
How’ve you been lately?
It’s fitting, these symptoms
This is lovesickness

Did I see right through you? You’re even ignoring your meals!
Your heart’s been stolen?
A kind, cute voice
As well as that smile
Knocked you out!
Defenseless – you are – you like that girl
You do – like her – let’s go
Yes! From here, let’s start!

Reincarnated pure love fighter,
Play! Play! Always!
Reincarnated pure love fighter, you’re gonna fight!
1, 2 and 3, 4, 5, 6, your enemy is yourself,
Let’s declare war! (Oh yeah!)

“I forgot again,” how many times have I heard that?
Will you still be unconvinced?
Full of contradictions, that’s how love is
This ‘cold’ isn’t gonna be cured easily

Look at your smartphone, the light’s flashing
What did that girl mail you?
You’re easy to read – you’re pissed off
Don’t just cut through! Tactics are important
Love’s apparition – is tricking – you
Love’s reality – is important
From here, let’s start!

Reincarnated pure love fighter,
Play! Play! Always!
Reincarnated pure love fighter, wield the sword of love
1, 2 and 3, 4, 5, 6, look at your dream,
Let’s dare to raise the level (Oh yeah!)

What do you ask for? To drown in love
Where are you going? Into that girl’s arms?
Do you want to be healed? Do you want to protect?
You know yourself, continue fighting

Reincarnated pure love fighter,
Play! Play! Always!
Reincarnated pure love fighter, you’re gonna fight!
1, 2 and 3, 4, 5, 6, your enemy is yourself,
Work, live, talk about the results (Oh yeah!)
Wow oh oh, smile, style, and personality
Wow oh oh, right in the middle
For the sight this alliance might see,
Let’s go pray

  • “Zuboshi” in the second verse actually means “bullseye”, but the phrasing here meant “did I hit the bulls’ eye?”, or basically, “did I see right through (your lies/pretenses)?”
  • The word used to describe the cellphone is “kirakira” – ‘sparkling’ – I chose to asssume it was referring to the notification light on it blinking when the message was received.
  • I have NO idea what シャキッ means but I saw an onomatopoeia of it meaning something “sharp and shiny”? So I imagine that the ‘hero’ is brandishing his sword here www Especially since he was “pissed/annoyed” (‘iraira’) and had to be reminded to resort to “tactics” (over aggression?)
  • コイノマモノ – okaaaay so I am around 90% sure this was written in katakana to induce a pun. There are two ways to parse “mamono”, and it’s either 真者 (“the real thing”, basically, not an impostor) or 魔物 (“evil spirit”, “apparition”). Since the first line says it’s “tricking” someone and the second one says it’s “important”, I went with this.
  • Backtracking: スキダ was also left in katakana and is also most probably a pun: my mind goes back to the SeoWaka chapter in Nozaki-kun where parallel-Seo writes すきだ but meant “you’re defenseless” and not the usual “I like you”. Seeing as the line before it says the ‘hero’ had been ‘knocked out’ by the girl’s charms, I thought it fitting.
  • The line after that was actually more accurately “like her – you do – let’s go” (to further play with words, working off my assumption that no kanji in those lines were used to make wordplay possible), but it was more grammatically correct this way…
